In accordance with 1 Peter, we can be assured that God is in control due to our new birth and a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are given an inheritance that never spoils or goes bad. Psalm 24:1 states the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it, this can be followed up with Ephesians 1:11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.
We can see the decay all around us. Entropy or more commonly known as the second law of thermodynamics is at work but it is also part of God's plan. This law was instituted as part of the fall of man and the curse on the universe. At times we all doubt the sovereignty of God, but no matter what, God is in control. A quick glimpse of history details the rise and fall of nations and leaders but God remains unchanged. For every effect there is a cause. Since God is in control, He can do anything He wants to where He wants to and when He wants to because He is God.
God decided from the beginning of time to show Himself to us through the foretelling of history as evidenced in books such as Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel just to name a few. Why? Because He is God and wanted us to know that He is in control.
